Agrias phalcidon phalcidon

Agrias phalcidon phalcidon is a wonderful Agrias described by Hewitson in 1855. The type specimen was collected around Parintins, Brazil by HW Bates. The nominate phalcidon subspecies fly on the South of Amazon and West of Rio Tapajos. The Southern limit of its distribution seems to be in Mato Grosso. It meets the ssp. fournierae around Maues.

There are a lot of splendid forms, including top rarities like forms floqueti, decellei, guisei or lemoulti.
