Agrias aedon jouberti has been described in 2014 by Gilles Séraphin. It comes from Ecuador in the Esmeraldas province (localities of San Francisco and Durango).
The internal black margin of fore wings is larger than on Agrias aedon aedon and pepitoensis and is sometimes underlined by blue. This results to a thinner red band on fore wings.

Even if there are some variations (females with and without blue on hind wings, level of blue on fore wings), no official forms have been described.
