Agrias claudina adornata has been described by Rebillard in 1961. The type series have been collected by Michael and Klug in the 1930s. The type locality is Umbria on Rio Putumayo in Colombia. It lives on upper and middle Rio Putumayo and Rio Caqueta above 500m.
Very rare in collection.
This ssp has been raised as a valid ssp. by Seraphin (“Les Agrias”, 2025) and is sometimes wrongly identified as “intermedius” or “sardanapalus” in Agrias collections.
